ARTE Musicverse consisted of four state-of-the-art live dome shows. Directed by 18 students to realize the project as part of a collaboration between TU Berlin and HTW Berlin.
Using Touchdesigner and artificial intelligence, we brought stunning live visuals to the 360-degree dome of the Zeiss-Großplanetarium Berlin. The hour-long live concerts by the four newcomer bands Mogli, Ásgeir, Orbit, and Alice Merton were recorded for ARTE.
The visual concept “Gateways of Reflection” focuses on the gate as a symbol for the transition from the profane to the spiritual world, while at the same
time serving as a metaphor for music as a gateway to another reality and emotional world. The stage with the gate creates a static, deserted place that
allows a view of passing landscapes, reinforcing the feeling of loneliness and abandonment. Inspired by the root themes in the songs, the concept combines
visual metaphors and nature connection by using landscapes from South Africa and the English coast as a backdrop. It is depicted through a blend of
realism and surrealism, with surreal elements emphasizing a transformative experience and themes of self-discovery.
